Albendazole sulfoxide 10%

Albendazole sulfoxide belongs to the group of benzimidazoles of a new generation and overcomes the resistance of helminths to the drugs of this group.

Albendazole sulfoxide has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action and is active against sexually mature and immature nematodes (Ascaris suis, Trichocephalus spp., Capillaria spp., Mullerius spp., Dictyocaulus spp., Haemonchus spp., Ostertagia spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Nematodirus spp., Cooperia spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Bunostomum spp., Chabertia spp., Thelazia spp., Strongyloides spp.), cestodes (Moniezia spp., Avitellinae spp., Thysaniezia spp.), as well as mature trematodes (Paramphistomum spp., Fasciola hepatica, Dicrocoelium lanceatum), reduces the infestation of pastures with helminth eggs.

The drug is used in farm animals (the cattle, sheep, goats, sows) with helminthiases caused by pathogens sensitive to albendazole sulfoxide.
Solution for intramuscular administration.

The drug is administered once individually intramuscularly:

To the cattle:
• in case of monieziasis, pulmonary and gastrointestinal nematodes at a dose of 1 cm3/25 kg of animal body weight;
• in case of trichuriasis and capillariasis at a dose of 1 cm3/20 kg of animal body weight;
• in case of chronic fascioliasis, paramphistomatosis, dicroceliosis at a dose of 1 cm3/12.5 kg of animal body weight;

To small ruminants:
• in case of moniesiosis, tysanieziosis, avitellinosis, pulmonary and gastrointestinal nematodes at a dose of 1 cm3/25 kg of animal body weight;
• in case of chronic fascioliasis, dicroceliasis, paramphistomatosis, trichuriasis and capillariasis at a dose of 1 cm3/12.5 kg of animal body weight;

To sows:
• in case of ascariasis, trichuriasis, strongyloidosis at a dose of 1 cm3/20 kg of animal body weight.

With the administration of the drug in a volume exceeding 5 cm3 to sows, sheep and goats, and 15 cm3 to the cattle, injections should be made in several places. During the cold season, the drug must be heated up to a temperature of +20 °C to +25 °C before administration.

It is contraindicated to administer the drug to females in the first third of pregnancy, as well as to weakened, emaciated and sick animals with infectious diseases.

Administration in young animals should be with caution, under the supervision of a veterinarian.

The drug must not be mixed in the same syringe with other drugs.

The combined use of the drug with praziquantel, dexamethasone is prohibited, as this leads to an increase in the concentration of albendazole sulfoxide in the animal's blood.
