Sulfadimidine is an antibacterial agent from the group of sulfonamides.

Trimethoprim is a diaminopyrimidine derivative.

The antibacterial effect of the drug is due to the synergy of the action of trimethoprim and sulfadimidine against pathogenic microorganisms:
• gram-positive (Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Nocardia spp., Bacillus spp., Actinomyces spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Enterococcus spp.),
• gram-negative (Escherichia spp., Salmonella spp., Enterobacter spp., Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Haemophilus spp., Bordetella spp., Campylobacter spp., Actinobacillus spp., Mannheimia haemolytica, Citrobacter spp., Providencia spp., Serratia marcescens, Morganella spp.),
• mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma spp.),
• chlamydia (Chlamydia spp.),
• fungi (Pneumocystis carinii),
• protozoa (Toxoplasma gondii, Eimeria spp.).
Sultribel OR is used in sows, calves, lambs and hens for the treatment of infectious diseases of bacterial and protozoan etiology (escherichiosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, zymeriosis, as well as other diseases, the pathogens of which are sensitive to sulfadimidine and trimethoprim).

The drug is used individually or by a group method in the following doses:

- in the poultry the drug is used by a group method for 3-5 days:

• in chickens under the age of 4 weeks at a dose of 0.1-0.5 cm3 of the drug/dm3 of drinking water;
• in other age groups of the poultry at a dose of 0.5-1 cm3 of the drug/dm3 of drinking water;
• in case of eimeriosis: 2 cm3 of the drug/dm3 of drinking water.

In case of salmonellosis, mixed infections, chronic course of the disease, the course of treatment is extended up to 7 days.

- in calves and lambs individually at a dose of 1-2 cm3/16 kg of animal body weight with drinking water or liquid feed 2 times a day for 3-5 days in a row;
- in sows individually at a dose of 1-2 cm3/16 kg of animal body weight with drinking water or a small amount of feed 2 times a day for 3-5 days in a row;
- in sows by a group method at a dose of 0.5-1 cm3 of the drug/dm3 of drinking water for 3-5 days in a row.

During the period of treatment by a group method of giving the drug, animals and poultry should receive only water containing the drug.

The drug solution is prepared based on the needs of animals in water for one day. In case when it’s not possible, the daily dose is divided into 2 equal parts and given at intervals of 12 hours.

Feeding the daily dose of the drug by the method of pulse dosing for 4-6 hours is possible.
The combined use of the drug with sulfur-containing drugs, derivatives of para-aminobenzoic acid, and vitamins of group B is prohibited.

It is forbidden to use the drug in animals with developed cicatricial digestion, in females during pregnancy and lactation; replacement young poultry 3 weeks before the start of egg-laying, with increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the ingredients of the drug, pronounced functional disorders of the hematopoietic organs, liver and kidneys.

The drug is prohibited for use in the poultry whose eggs are used as human food.
MEAT: sows, calves, lambs - 10 days, hens - 5 days.
